Cracked (2012-2015)

Cracked is a series of paintings I made in high school. Each portrait is disrupted by a fractured pattern inspired by broken glass or tangled webs. Through these pieces I explore intimacy, fragility, and vulnerability. The very cracks that break up each figure also unite them. We are all broken and incomplete, yet it is the ways in which we cope with these cracks in our lives that begin to make us whole.
